STORRS, Conn. (AP) - A former University of Connecticut student has been arrested on several charges connected to the off-campus, drug-related death of her boyfriend.

Nineteen-year-old Amanda Denke of Wilton was arrested in her hometown Thursday. Police say her boyfriend, 20-year-old UConn junior Pawel Sywak, stopped breathing at the Mansfield Apartments on Jan. 24 and Denke didn't immediately call for medical assistance.

UConn police also say Denke hid drugs, withheld important information from emergency medical personnel and lied to police about what happened.

Denke posted $50,000 bail after being charged with reckless endangerment, possession of heroin and marijuana, tampering with evidence, interfering with police, making false statements to police and possession of drug paraphernalia. She's scheduled to be arraigned in Rockville Superior Court on Feb. 28.

It's not clear if Denke has a lawyer.
