NORWALK, Conn. (WTNH) -- A Norwalk woman was arrested for health insurance fraud Tuesday.
Police said Deborah A. Bradley, whose husband was arrested on federal health care fraud charges in May, was arrested Tuesday and charged with defrauding HUSKY, the state's taxpayer-funded subsidized health plan for working families.
Bradley, 53, of 9 Fair St., Norwalk, was charged with first-degree larceny by defrauding a public community.
According to the arrest warrant, the arrest stems from a federal investigation which revealed that Bradley's husband, a certified drug and alcohol counselor, defrauded the Medicaid program by billing for services that were never rendered. He was arrested in Florida in May.
Further investigation revealed that Bradley improperly obtained HUSKY insurance coverage for herself and her husband by falsely stating their assets and income on an application.
Bradley was released on $100,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in Hartford Superior Court on December 19th.
