New Haven, Connecticut (WTNH) - New Haven police have released the name of the woman who was hit by a bullet while driving.

Police say the victim was 27-year old Jade Volpe.

Volpe was driving down Washington Avenue near Clover Street around 3:30 Saturday afternoon when a bullet entered her car and hitting her in the head.

Four children all under the age of 10 were in her car at the time.

Volpe was transported to an area hospital were she suffered from non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives believe the gunman was shooting at someone else and missed.

This shooting comes less than 24 hours after the city's latest homicide.

A 25-year old man was fatally shot in the chest around 2 am Saturday morning. He was found near Humphry and East Streets.

Police are looking for suspects.

There have been twelve homicides so far this year in the Elm City.
