WESTERLY, R.I. (AP) — The North Stonington Board of Education in Connecticut is going back to school, learning about the state Freedom of Information law.
The Westerly Sun reports that a board workshop is scheduled for Monday.
The newspaper filed two complaint against the board in June, saying it violated the Freedom of Information Act by providing fewer than the required 24 hours' notice before a meeting, and that a vote for board chairman was improper.
Board members used paper ballots, preventing observers from knowing how board members voted. The board amended the minutes of the June 8 meeting to show how members voted.
The workshop is scheduled for Monday.
