Hartford (AP) - A teacher exodus in Connecticut has left college and universities wondering what lies ahead for their academic programs.
More than 200 college and university professors accepted a state retirement package offered to address overall budget concerns.
The exodus could mean slightly larger classes, more courses taught by free-lance or retired professors and a possible cap on enrollment this fall.
College officials say they will spend the summer analyzing their losses and trying to figure out how to plug holes with a smaller staff while they wait to hear what their state funding will be.
