DANBURY, Conn. (Danbury News-Times) - Firefighters quickly knocked down a house fire on Balmforth Avenue that left 14 people without a home for the night, officials said.
The fire was first called in at 12:32 a.m. early Friday morning by one of the tenants of the two-story multi-unit house at 41 Balmforth Ave., said Danbury Fire Chief Geoff Herald. He added that the smoke detectors in the house were working when the fire broke out.
There were no reported injuries but two cats were missing, officials said.
