STRATFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- A boat caught fire at Brewer's Marina in Stratford Friday.
According to the Stratford Fire Department, a family was on the Long Island Sound throughout the day. When the boat was coming into the dock, a child that was sleeping in the cabin of the boat began screaming.
The father went to the cabin to see what the commotion was and found heavy smoke. The man attempted to put the fire out after getting the child away from the area, but the fire was too big.
Firefighters used 400 ft. of hand lines down the dock to extinguish the fire.
Officials said there were 125 gallons of fuel on the boat at the time of the fire, but none of it leaked.
The fire was contained to the cabin of the 31 ft. vessel.
No injuries were reported.
The fire remains under investigation.
