STAMFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police are investigating a suspicious package incident in Stamford.

Around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, police were called to the scene on Archer Lane to discover a water bottle with an unknown liquid inside, in the bushes.

Police believe two water bottled with the same liquid were thrown from a red car, and that one of the bottles exploded on impact with the road.

Hazmat and the city bomb squad were called to the scene as a precaution.

The area was cleared and has been deemed safe.

Officials said no one was hurt and there was no property damage.

Police now believe the incident was a prank and the bottles were Draino bombs.

The incident remains under investigation and police are searching for those responsible.
