BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) -- To help the plows Bridgeport officials are pleading residents to not park on streets.
"We implore the public. If you want your street cleaned, you have to move your car. We cannot blow around your car. This is important for public safety and lifesaving apparatus," said Mayor Bill Finch.
Emergency responders expect the snow to pile up so they're asking folks to help them by staying at home, not using candles for fear of sparking a fire, and if they can, help clear off fire hydrants so crews can see them as this blizzard becomes a white out.
"There is going to be no parking on our snow emergency streets and we will be enforcing that no parking rule with towing so please stay off the snow emergency streets, use the alternative parking lots that are being provided by the city and the board of education," said Police Chief Joseph Gaudett.
