BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) - A woman who was caught up in a cheating scandal in the Atlanta school system has been dismissed from a consulting job in Bridgeport.
Bridgeport Schools Superintendent Paul Vallas tells the Connecticut Post that he made the decision because he does not want any controversy.
Millicent Few was the human resources director for the Atlanta system before resigning in July amid a standardized-test cheating scandal that reportedly involved 178 teachers. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has reported that Few has denied tampering with documents or ordering anyone else to do so.
Vallas said Few was recommended by a New York-based human resources consultant for school districts and spent two days in the Bridgeport district before her dismissal.
Vallas said that he will renew the search for a permanent human resources director.
