Bridgeport inmate found dead in apparent suicide

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) - State prison officials say an inmate at Bridgeport Correctional Center who faced attempted murder and kidnapping charges died in a suspected suicide, the fourth since July.
The state Department of Correction says Jasapersaud Hariprashad was found with a bed sheet tied around his neck
at about 2:45 a.m. Tuesday. The other end was secured to a vent. He was alone in his cell.
The 27-year-old Jasapersaud had been held since Aug. 11, pending trial, on a $1 million bond on a charge of attempted murder.
