Bridgeport police investigating Park St. Shooting

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) -- One person was taken to the hospital by ambulance after a shooting incident in Bridgeport Wednesday.

The shooting happened inside a house at 505 Park Street. That's a three-family home.

Police said the victim, 43-year-old Ralph Stancil, was in his apartment when he was shot in the head once.

He remains in critical condition as of 9:19 p.m. Thursday at Bridgeport Hospital.

Officials said Stancil's 10-year-old son was playing in the back yard at the time of the incident. The boy heard the gunshot, went inside, the gunman pushed the boy into a bedroom and fled.

Police are searching for the gunman.

The incident remains under investigation.
