BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) -- A proposal to put a youth curfew in effect in a city that's been plagued by deadly violence passed a vote Thursday night.
The city council in Bridgeport made the curfew even tougher than earlier proposals.
They upped the age from 17 to 18, so anyone under 18 who is out and about has to be with a parent or guardian Sunday through Thursday from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., and Friday and Saturday from midnight to 6 a.m.
Council member James Holloway was the only one to vote against the proposal.
He said it could distract from other police work.
Holloway did persuade the council to agree to a six month review to see if the ordinance is actually working.
