Stamford, Conn. (WTNH) - An Amber Alert was canceled after the child in question was found safe in the company of his parents.
It all started when someone called police to report a possible child abduction. The witness saw what they believed was a Hispanic male placing a 4 to 5 year-old boy in the trunk of a Black Honda and then driving out of the Stamford Mall around 4:15 pm.
The witness was able to report a license plate number.
Police were able to contact the driver of the vehicle who explained that he had been at the mall. He went to put a box in the trunk of is car, while his son got into the car through the passenger door.
No charges have been filed and police are still investigating the incident. The say it is better to be safe, than sorry when it comes to reporting these incidents.
