Danbury (WTNH) - Quadruplets from Danbury are celebrating the news that they will soon be attending Yale University - together.
The Crouch quadruplets of Danbury laugh and joke and talk over each other. Their high energy is matched only by their high achievements. Last Tuesday, Kenneth, Martina, Ray and Carol got the news that they were accepted into one of the most prestigious institutions in academia.
"We're just so happy, cause we were afraid that maybe one of us would be left out," said Kenneth.
Following a tour of the Yale campus, they asked what were the chances that all four would be accepted.
"He said, 'To be hones, we would probably not take all four of you,'" Martina recalled.
But each has distinguished themselves in their own way. Ken is the academic, Martina's an artist, Carol's a writer and Ray is the athlete. They describe themselves as competitive, but supportive. Though growing up in a pack of four, they had to branch out and fight for their identity at an early age.
"You could probably look at all four of us and see a blend of like a little bit of each of us in each other but we also just found our own names," said Ray.
But did they ever consider branching out alone?
"I was actually the only one out of the four who was like, no, we need to separate, we need to go off to different colleges and not see each other anymore," Carol said.
That idea did not go over well.
"Everyone was just so mad at me, it was like a big thing," Carol said.
Sending four kids to Yale isn't cheap, but the quads' parents say they will find a way.
