Norwalk, Conn. (WTNH) - Experts from Mystic Aquarium are looking into the death of a dolphin found in Norwalk in a tidal creek near Long Island Sound.
Its believed that the five-foot long dolphin swam into the creek during high tide and became stranded.
"It's a little higher, I mean, I think you can actually put a boat in here somewhere," said Sammy Grasso of Norwalk.
It was seen frolicking in the area over the weekend, but by Monday the Norwalk animal control officer was called after it was found dead on a marsh bank. The poor creature was spotted just behind Grasso Construction.
"I heard about it, I mean, I kept hearing about it, the news was calling everybody," Sammy Grasso said.
Mystic Aquarium experts will be checking to see if the animal was injured or diseased.
