WESTPORT, Conn. (WTNH) -- Firefighters responded to wires down and burning in Westport Monday night.
The incident happened just before 7:30 p.m., on Greens Farms Road at Turkey Hill Road South.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a power line down with an electrical fire burning in the trees and landscape adjacent to the road.
Greens Farms Road was closed from Turkey Hill South to New Creek Road.
Westport Fire units planned to stay on the scene until it was confirmed that the power was shut off and the fire was extinguished.
As of 8:45 p.m., CL&P was reporting approximately 200 Westport customer without power. There was no estimated restoration time.
