Elderly woman crashes into nail salon

SHELTON, Conn. (WTNH) -- An elderly woman crashed a car into a nail salon in Shelton Tuesday afternoon.
The accident happened around 2:30 p.m., at Modern Nails, located at 10 Huntington Plaza.
Upon arrival emergency personnel found a black Cadillac had crashed into the front window of the nail salon.
The driver, 82-year-old Elaine McPadden, of Shelton, told police she was pulling into a parking spot when her foot slipped off the brake pedal and hit the gas.
McPadden did not report any injuries in the crash.
No employees or customers inside the salon at the time of the crash were injured.
The incident remains under investigation.
