Firefighters battle Bridgeport house fire

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) -- Firefighters battled a blaze at a home in Bridgeport early Sunday morning.

The fire broke out at a one-family home, located at 248 Iranistan Ave.

The Bridgeport Fire Department said the fire was located on the stairs, at the rear of the home.

No injuries were reported.

The home sustained fire and smoke damage.

Officials said due to the damage to the stairs, the residents of the home will not be allowed to stay there.

The Fire Marshall is investigating the scene. An Arson Division was also called in to investigate.
