Gangs a growing problem in Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (CT Post) -- The 3-year-old girl shot last Monday while walking with her mother on a West Side street is the latest victim in a war between youth gangs for control of parts of the city.

Even though city officials in the past tried to downplay the damage gangs are causing, even they had to admit gangs are a growing problem.

Just about every resident of the West Side neighborhood interviewed about Monday's shooting said the same thing. "It's those gangs; something has to be done about the gangs."
