Greenwich girls labeled on FB Smut List

Girls labeled as promiscuous by their peers

GREENWICH, Conn. (WTNH) - Gossip has gone viral in Greenwich, where a 'Smut List' on Facebook names a group of girls labeled as promiscuous by their peers.

"They're making it seem like it's the perfect Greenwich, the bubble, everything is perfect in Greenwich, and it's not," says one Greenwich mother.

The Greenwich High School mother, who asked not to be identified, says the 'Smut List' is the talk of the school. According to Greenwich Police, the list names promiscuous girls who go to schools both in New York and Greenwich, and is being spread through smart-phones and, according to this parent, Facebook.

"It's because of this gossiping, Facebook, and how easy accessible, we'd use to write notes, curl them up, and get in trouble if a teacher saw a note, but now, it's like they do this, whatever it's called, broadcasting, and it goes to everyone, and it says, do you want to add anyone to the smut list," says the unidentified Greenwich mother.

School officials did not return a phone call or email asking for comment. However, on Mar.15, there was a disagreement between groups of students over the list, but there was no violence involved.

Police tell News 8 that while they do have a school resource officer on campus, the district is handling the investigation.
