Hospitals welcome 1st baby of the year

(WTNH) -- Hospitals around the state welcome their first baby of the year.

Hartford Hospital's first baby of the year arrived at 11:50 a.m. Crista and Bryan Cauley welcomed Antonia Grace Cauley. Antonia weighs 6 lbs 3 oz. and is 18 inches long. Both Crista and Antonia are doing great.

This is the family's second baby.

Crista was due on Jan. 12 so she was a little early. The family didn't know what she was having this time and were surprised and delighted to have another girl. Their older daughter Laila turned 3 in November.

Bridgeport Hospital welcomed their first baby of the year at 12:44 p.m. Enriqueta and Alejandro Merino welcomed Jayden Emanual Merino. Jayden has two brothers, Alex and Eduardo, and a sister Alejadra. The mom and baby are doing great.
