NORWALK, Conn. (WTNH) -- Drivers were advised to avoid I-95 south in Norwalk Sunday after the road became severely flooded.

In addition to a flood warning issued for all of Fairfield County until 7 p.m. Sunday evening, CL&P reported nearly 3,000 power outages in Danbury right when the storm hit around 5 p.m.

Drivers were advised to stay inside and off the roads until the storm passes.

Firefighters were called to a condominium in Danbury after a lightning strike sparked a fire in one of the units.

In Bethany, a barn fire on Cedar Road was caused after a lightning bolt struck a tree. The tree fell onto the barn, causing a propane tank to explode. No one was injured.

Additionally, Metro North's North Canaan line was delayed due to a downed tree near Talmadge Hill.
