DANBURY, Conn. (WTNH) -- Hundreds of health care workers are still on strike as contract talks continue between HealthBridge and the union.
Workers at five nursing homes across the state walked off the job earlier this month. They say the company is trying to take away benefits and vacations.
"We're here to defend our rights and our patient rights," said Mayra Paulino.
"We're more concerned with our residents. We've been here for years. We are people that's been working here for over 30 something years and we don't think it's fair that were just being dissed like dirt just thrown out like garbage," said Dorothy Estelle.
State Attorney General George Jepsen is expected to hit the picket lines with the workers today at locations in Danbury, Stamford, Westport and Milford.
The workers have also received a show of support from Governor Dannel Malloy.
