Jogger's death ruled a suicide

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) --The medical examiner's office has confirmed a body found in Ridgefield belonged to a missing man.

David Riek, 44, was reported missing on Saturday after he did not return home from a morning run.

After two days of searching , police found a body that matched his description in a wooded area near the intersection of Florida Hill Road and Ridgewood.

The medical examiner's office confirmed the body belonged to Riek and determined he committed suicide via an incised wound to the neck.

Friends tell News 8 he, along with his wife and three children, were planning to move to Singapore where he had recently gotten a new job.
