Man pleads not guilty to 156 sex assaults

BRIDGEPORT -- A Florida flight attendant pleaded not guilty Tuesday to sexually assaulting a local 10-year-old boy 156 times.

Rafael Padilla-Cruz, 22, of Fort Lauderdale, stood before Superior Court Judge Robert Devlin and pleaded not guilty to 156 counts of first-degree sexual assault and 156 counts of risk of injury to a minor.

He elected a jury trial.

Devlin continued the case to Dec. 3. Padilla-Cruz and his lawyer, Michael Meehan, left the Main Street courthouse without comment. Padilla-Cruz is free on $200,000 bond.
