Men settle dispute over $1 million prize

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) - Two Connecticut men have settled a three-year legal fight over a $1 million Powerball jackpot.

The Connecticut Post reports that Armando Martins of Trumbull and Nino Nascimento of Bridgeport reached a deal last week in a lawsuit filed in Bridgeport Superior Court. The settlement calls for Martins to get $630,000 and Nascimento $370,000.

Martin claimed he and Nascimento often bought Powerball tickets together and agreed to share the winnings.

Martins claimed in his lawsuit that Nascimento asked him for $75 to buy Powerball tickets for a drawing in February 2009. Martins says he gave Nascimento all the cash he had — $74. The lawsuit says Nascimento bought tickets and didn't tell Martins when one of them hit the $1 million jackpot.

Martins and Nascimento declined to comment.
