Shelton, Conn. (WTNH) - A crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck resulted in the death of a 43-year-old West Haven man.

The crash happened Thursday night around 10:15, when the motorcycle and truck collided at the intersection of Leavenworth Road (Route 110) and Walnut Tree Hill Road, near the Shelton/Monroe town line.

The rider, Bruce Tischer of West Haven, was taken to Bridgeport Hospital with severe injuries, and was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the truck, Duane Roe, 40, of Shelton, did not complain to police of any injuries.

"Preliminary findings show that the motorcycle operated by Tischer was traveling east on Leavenworth Road," Sgt. Robert Kozlowsky said in a news release. "The pickup truck operated by Roe had been traveling west on Leavenworth Road, and was turning left onto Walnut Tree Hill Road when the crash occurred."

An accident reconstruction team spent several hours on the scene documenting the crash. No charges have been filed.
