Bridgeport (WTNH) - A vehicle slammed into a building on Hancock Avenue. Witnesses say police were chasing the suspect when the cruiser bumped the car and sent it flying into a house.
They claim the man jumped out but was then hit by the squad car. Witnesses also say the man was then pinned under the police car and the officer backed over him.
"Cop car hit him, knocked him up in the air, he fell in front of the car, cop car ran over him, when he seen the boy was under the car, he backed back up," said Danny Colson of Bridgeport.
"He got out, put the car in reverse, backed over him, the person got up basically and ran inside a yard right over there," said Ruel Watson of Bridgeport.
The suspect was still able to take off on foot. The police department has refused to answer any questions about the incident.
It is unknown as to why the suspect was being pursued, if he was
even arrested or if the department is investigating the conduct of
that officer.
