Officer clipped by passing car

Shelton, Conn. (WTNH) - A police officer is expected to be okay after he was struck by the mirror of a passing car.

Officer John Giordano was directing traffic on Coram Ave by Myrtle St. in Shelton on a private duty job when he was struck.

Police say he was clipped by the passenger side mirror of a passing vehicle.

The driver, Heng Wang, 87, was an issued an infraction ticket and charged with striking an officer with a motor vehicle.
