Officials meet with father of fire victims

STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut prosecutors have met with the father of three girls killed in a Christmas morning fire in Stamford as part of their investigation of the blaze.
The Advocate of Stamford reports that prosecutors talked with Matthew Badger and his lawyer on Wednesday at Stamford Superior Court. Both sides declined to comment about the meeting.
Badger's three daughters, 9-year-old Lily and 7-year-old twins Grace and Sarah, died in the fire along with their maternal grandparents, Lomer and Pauline Johnson. Badger's estranged wife, Madonna Badger, and her friend, Michael Borcina, escaped the blaze. Authorities say the fire started after Borcina left a bag of fireplace ashes near the back of the house.
Matthew Badger wasn't living at the home at the time.
Authorities are considering whether criminal charges should be filed.
