Pedestrian hit crossing Fairfield intersection

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (WTNH)-- A pedestrian was hit crossing an intersection in Fairfield early Sunday morning.

Police say a car was traveling north on Longfellow Avenue around 1:33 AM, when they struck a pedestrian crossing the intersection of Castle Avenue and Longfellow Avenue.

The pedestrian was taken to Saint Vincent's Medical Center for his injuries.

The driver stopped after the accident and has not yet been charged with anything.

The crash is currently under investigation.
