DANBURY, Conn. (AP) — A New Hampshire man escaped injury when the landing gear on his experimental aircraft collapsed as the plane landed at Danbury Municipal Airport.

The News Times reports that airport administrator Paul Estefan said the incident happened at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday. The pilot, who was not identified, was visiting friends in Danbury.

Estefan said the pilot didn't know he had a problem until the gear snapped.

He says federal aviation inspectors plan to inspect the plane Monday.
