DARIEN, Conn. (AP) - State police in Connecticut have arrested a federal fugitive who allegedly walked away from a halfway house in Illinois.
Police say that on Friday, the Secret Service told them that 42-year-old Troy Eugene Stafford was believed to be at a rest stop off Interstate 95 in Darien.
Police say troopers and local police responded, confirmed it was Stafford and arrested him without incident. They say he'll be turned over to U.S. Marshals.
According to reports, Stafford was indicted in 2006 after threatening the life of former President George W. Bush. He was serving his sentence in Marion, Ill.
It wasn't immediately clear when Stafford allegedly walked away from the halfway house, and no further information was immediately available.
