Police: Conn. man shoots himself after standoff

DANBURY, Conn. (AP) — A Danbury man shot and killed himself after a standoff with police that lasted several hours.

Police say the man barricaded himself inside his home Tuesday afternoon after threatening his neighbor.

The Hartford Courant reports that police asked neighbors to stay indoors after receiving a 911 call around 4 p.m. The standoff was over by 8 p.m.
