BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) -- Folks in Bridgeport get to vote on the four vacant seats on the city's Board of Education.
The state had taken over the Board of Education and appointed new members to the board.
Then in April, the State Supreme Court ruled the old board had to be reinstated.
At that time, four of the old members' terms had expired so the court ordered a special election, which talks place today, to fill those four vacant seats.
Residents News 8 talked to at the polls said they were eager to have their voices heard.
"I'm really not convinced," said Phyllis Demasi. "I voted what I thought I should today."
The polls will remain open until 8 p.m. tonight.
Take a look at some of the Report It photos we received in November, 2012.
