Rainfall forces Lake Mohegan to close

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) -- Heavy rainfall on Friday is to blame for a closure at Lake Mohegan.

Officials said that runoff from the rain poses a health risk to anyone who may venture into the water.

As a result, the swimming area is closed through Sunday.

The lake will reopen on Sunday, unless there is more significant rainfall.
