Remains of missing kayaker found

STRATFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- Three years after he was reported missing, police say Michael Krupa's body has been found.

22-year-old Krupa was reported missing in 2009 when he and a friend went kayaking near Charles Island in Milford. Police searched the waters for 34 hours before calling off the search.

Then, in May 2011, human remains were found in the Housatonic River near the Stratford Army Engine Plant.

On Saturday, April 28, 2012 police informed Krupa's family that DNA analysis confirmed the remains belonged to him.
