RIDGEFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) -- Several schools in Ridgefield are closing early on Thursday due to the heat and humidity.
Kids rejoiced when summer came even sooner than expected. Several schools in Ridgefield had to close early on the last day of classes due to the high temperatures.
Ridgefield High School will dismiss students at 10:55 a.m. Graduation will still place as scheduled.
Students at East Ridge Middle School and Scott's Ridge Middle School will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m.
Branchville Elementary, Ridgebury Elementary, and Scotland Elementary School will dismiss students at 12:05 p.m. Fifth graders and their families at Ridgebury Elementary will meet at 2:00 p.m. for the Grade 5 moving-up ceremony at Scotts Ridge Middle School.
Barlow Mountain Elementary, Farmingville Elementary, and Veteran's Park Elementary School will dismiss at 12:40 p.m.
