Funeral services were held today for a woman and her three young children that were killed last week in an apartment fire.

You could sense the sadness across the city as hundreds filed into Mount Aery Baptist Church this morning. All came to pay their last respects to 5-year old Nyshon Williams, his twin four year old sisters, Nyasija and Tyasjia Williams, and their mother, 22-year old Tiana Black.

"I knew her for a long time and I even saw her on the day of the incident so it's really hard for me to see her like this now," said April Keitt of Bridgeport.

"I'm a big guy and we're not supposed to cry but I have my tissue here and I admit a few tears did come down," said Principal James Adams, Longfellow School.

The family died Friday when a fire broke out in their apartment at the PT Barnum housing project. Many say there that an accident like this was bound to happen - the apartments only have one exit and no fire escapes.

"That's our first priority- to have them change that building, to put in another door," said Pastor Mary Lee.
