SEYMOUR, Conn. (WTNH) -- Everywhere you look, people are joining together to find ways to support Newton children and families.

Cars lined up in Seymour Saturday to donate money, teddy bears, and new school supplies.  The supplies will be for Sandy Hook Elementary students as they move to a school in Monroe in January.

Seymour firefighters say it's the least they could do after the unthinkable tragic day.

"Any teddy bears we get will go to local hospitals for the holiday," said Chris Edwards, Seymour Fire Department. "Any money, any proceeds are going to the Newtown Savings Bank to the Newtown Memorial Fund, and the gift cards are going out to the victims families and first responders."

If you'd like to help, you can contact the Seymour Fire Department .

If you'd like to donate to the Sandy Hook School Support Fund text the word 'Newtown' to 80888. The fund , created by the United Way of Western Connecticut and Newtown Savings Bank , has already received $2.8 million in donations.
