Shelton, Conn. (WTNH) - The home once owned by the former Connecticut man accused of trying to explode a car bomb in Times Square will be auctioned off.

Shahzdad had until Saturday, July 31st to pay off the $213,000 loan on the house. Bids for the house were supposed to begin outside the property at 119 Long Hill Avenue today.
Shahzad continues to be held by federal authorities after pleading guilty to terrorism and weapons charges in connection with May's failed bombing.
According to the New Haven Register , to bid on the property, potential buyers were asked to bring a certified or bank check for $24,000 to the house Saturday. The balance must be paid within 30 days.
