Stamford, Conn. (WTNH) - A Stamford-based non-profit is helping earthquake survivors in Chile.

Inside Americares warehouse in Stamford, $400,000 worth of medical supplies are ready to be airlifted to Chile. They also have a two person Rapid Response Team in neighboring Peru waiting to access the situation.

"As soon as we saw the earthquake happen in Chile we started to move into action in order to provide humanitarian assistance," said Christopher Gorder, Americares.

Americares hopes to begin moving supplies like pain relievers, gauze, and syringes  into Chile in the next couple of days.
