TRUMBULL, Conn. (AP) — A preschool teacher in Trumbull is accused of pushing the head of a 3-year-old special needs student into a table top.
The Connecticut Post reports 48-year-old Jean Marie Pulaski was charged Wednesday with breach of peace after an investigation into the April incident.
A nurse at the Trumbull Early Childhood Education Center told authorities she saw Pulaski push the girl into a chair, grab the girl's hair and push her head, causing it to strike the table.
The girl's mother called police when she was notified of the incident.
Pulaski's lawyer, William Westcott, says there is no legal allegation that the child was physically harmed. Pulaski told police the child was supposed to be sitting with her head down and she gently pushed the child's head onto the table.
