FAIRFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) -- A ribbon cutting ceremony was held to celebrate improvements at the Fairfield Train Station Friday.
The ceremony was held so that the town could unveil new canopy structures covering the staircase at the railroad station and other improvements which were the result of a $100 STEAP (small town economic assistance program) grant.
"This is an important project for the thousands of commuters who have to use these stairs in inclement weather," said First Selectman Mike Tetreau. "This project will go a long way in ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the year."
