BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) -- A United Illuminating worker was taken to the hospital after being injured while working in a manhole in Bridgeport Friday.
A UI spokesman said a member of an underground crew had electrical contact while in a a manhole on Main St.
Other workers performed CPR on the worker, identified as 42-year-old Al Cook, prior to EMT's arriving.
Cook was brought out of the manhole and taken to St. Vincent's Hospital.
Cook is in critical condition.
