NORWALK, Conn. (WTNH) -- The Norwalk Police Dept. is saddened to report the untimely death of a two year veteran to the department.
Officer Kenneth Cerulli, 41, was off duty and found in his home around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday.
According to a press release, he suffered what is believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. There was no evidence of foul play.
A thorough investigation is being done and no other information will be released concerning the incident or cause of death at this time.
Officer Cerulli is survived by his wife Jennifer.
"We are saddened to lose a member of our family so suddenly and tragically. We offer our deepest condolences to his wife and family. We ask that the privacy of the family be respected at this very difficult time," said Chief Thomas Kulhawik in a press release.
