Redding, Conn. (WTNH) - A woman was killed after a single-car crash left her trapped beneath a vehicle on Christmas day.
The crash took place around 12:40 p.m., on Marchant Road, near Simpaug Turnpike.
The 2006 Nissan Murano left the road, striking a tree. Annemarie Avetisyan, 48, of Hattertown Road, Newtown, was trapped under the vehicle, which rolled over her after she was ejected. She was taken to Danbury Hospital in serious condition, where she was later pronounced dead.
The driver, Annemarie's husband, 45-year-old Alexey Avetisyan, and a 5-year-old boy were also taken to Danbury Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation. Anyone who might have seen the vehicle in the West Redding area between noon on Christmas Day and 12:40 p.m. is asked to call Officer Tim Succi or Sgt. Peter Quinn at the Redding Police Department at 203-938-3400.
