Ridgefield, Conn. (WTNH) -- A woman was injured when a she was brushed by a tractor-trailer on Prospect Street in Ridgefield.
Police say the big rig was turning at the intersection of Prospect and Main Street when a woman stepped off the curb, into the road.
The older woman saw the truck just after she stepped into the road. She wasn't able to get out of it's away and the truck brushed her.
The woman was transported to Danbury Hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the truck did stop after the incident.
The truck had the right of way, police say, and the woman was not in the crosswalk; she was 18 feet away from the nearest one.
The woman could be cited for improper use of a highway, according to police.
The incident is under investigation.
