BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) -- People weren't the only ones affected by the blizzard. Animals at Bridgeport's Beardsley Zoo had to weather the storm too.
Knowing the blizzard was on its way, Zoo keepers brought many of the animals inside on Friday.
Two zoo keepers made the long and dangerous trek through the snow to the Zoo on Saturday to feed and check up on all the animals.
"The main challenge was just getting here to see them and see that they're all okay and where possible, we brought them food but that was pretty much it. We just made sure they were okay, make sure they were where they're supposed to be and threw them some food," said zookeeper Bethany Baldwin.
"The outside animals loved the snow. For example tigers loved the snow and the links, they're all happy to get to run around and play," said zookeeper Martyna Zmijewska.
Zookeepers say all of the animals are doing well.
